Amy Jane Cohen – Educator, historian and author of “Black History in the Philadelphia Landscape” will talk about her book at 7 p.m. at the Historic Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Church, 916 S. Swanson St. After a general overview of her book, she’ll focus on the history of the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors, a 1934 monument that sits at 20th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, across from the Franklin Institute. Bada-Bing-o – From 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Neumann-Goretti High School, an unforgettable bingo night with a South Philly twist. Philly Black Wine Fest – From 6:30 to 11:30 at Penn Museum, 3260 South St., the event will feature 20+ black- and minority-owned businesses, featuring wine tastings, product samples, live music, art showcases, fashion, entertainment, food and drink vendors, and interactive experiences. This year’s festival theme is Eden Noir, with fly and fashionable dress strongly recommended in white, green, blue, purple, animal print and/or floral. Fall for the Arts Festival – From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the 40th annual Fall for the Arts Festival, transforming Germantown Avenue into an outdoor arts and crafts marketplace. This family-friendly event features live demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, culinary delights and boutique shopping. The 8000 to 8600 blocks of Germantown Avenue will be closed to traffic. The festival showcases over 200 artists and vendors, offering a diverse array of art, including oils, watercolors, photography, sculpture, pottery, wood crafts, jewelry and accessories.

Paul Revere’s Philadelphia Connection – from 5:30 to 7 p.m., to mark the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride to the First Continental Congress, Carpenters’ Hall is teaming up with the Paul Revere House in Boston, and the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry to shed light on this forgotten chapter of American history. Witness Revere’s arrival by horse and hear from Revere himself and his fellow Bostonian John Adams, who was a delegate to the First Continental Congress, about the crucial news Revere delivered on his Philadelphia rides and how it impacted the course of the American Revolution. South Philly Sausage Fest – The 8th Annual event takes place from noon to 7 p.m. at Broad Street and West Passyunk Avenue. Afternoon of delicious foods, local beers, live music, craft artists and flea marketers. This event is kid friendly and dog-on-a-leash friendly.

Whiskey Bonanza – From 7-10 p.m. at the Twisted Tail, 509 S. 2nd St., a whiskey tasting event featuring more than 100 whiskeys, a cocktail competition with top Philly bartenders, a signature southern pig roast, live music and more whiskey-themed festivities. VIP hour from 6-7 p.m.

Getting Creative with Jennifer Blaine – At 8 p.m. at Mister John’s Music, 761 S. 8th St., Philly Fringe favorite Jennifer Blaine, known for her characters and transformational solo shows, is on a mission to boost your creativity. Confabulation: A World Premiere Production – At 7 p.m at the Arden Theatre Company, 62 N. 2nd St. A gas station attendant joins a “past life regression” support group to take control of her life. But as she looks inward, her group-mates transform into the people and feelings that have hurt her the most, unraveling a thread of new relationships that force her to confront her deepest darkness. Strangers become sisters become lovers become straight men who become gay men who become straight men again — all under the group leader’s promise for ultimate enlightenment. Confabulation intertwines past lives and future fears into a startling current tale of finding yourself amidst the chaos. Indigenous Peoples Weekend at MOAR – Celebrate Native American history and culture during the Museum of the American Revolution’s annual Indigenous Peoples Weekend celebration. It will include traditional Native American dance performances, hands-on demonstrations and other special activities for all ages. The Museum will be joined by members of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, who will perform traditional Lenape social dances on the Museum’s outdoor plaza. Dance performances will take place daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

October 13

Turkey Day Tailgate – From 8 a.m. to noon at Lincoln Financial Field, Philly PR Girl is hosting the ninth annual Turkey Day Tailgate benefiting North Light Community Center before the Eagles take on the Cleveland Browns. Ticket-holders will gather at a designated spot in the Lincoln Financial Field parking lots (exact location to be announced closer to the event date) to enjoy a Thanksgiving-themed menu, crafted seasonal cocktails, tailgating games, face painting, raffle prizes and signed memorabilia, a photo booth and more. Guests are encouraged to bring a canned good to support the charitable efforts of Turkey Day Tailgate. Tickets can be purchased at TDT24.eventbrite.com. General admission tickets are $68. Ms. Pat – The Emmy-nominated comedian, actress, author and host will bring her unforgiving and darkly hilarious “Ms. Pat: The Hot & Flashy Tour” to the Live! Event Center at Live! Ms. Pat is best known for “The Ms. Pat Show,” her Netflix standup comedy special “Ms. Pat: Y’all Wanna Hear Something Crazy?” and multiple BET shows based on her real-life story of an inner-city drug dealer turned suburban mom.
