AAPI Heritage Month Celebration – From 5-8 p.m at at LIVE! Casino & Hotel, 900 Packer Ave., the Asian American Chamber of Commerce honors the heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders during this celebration. Guests can look forward to food, live music — including performances by the Philadelphia Orchestra’s AAPI String Quartet — and plenty of VIPs. Tickets are required.

Runnin’ LateComedyShow: A Legacy of Laughs – At 8 p.m. at Rex at the Royal, 1524 South St., comedian Colin Washington will take the stage. Hosted by Cab Washington and Mo Hill, this out-of-this-world comedy originated in L.A. in 2019 and now splits time among New York, Philly and Los Angeles. Join the duo for a night filled with banter, making it a blend of culinary delights and entertainment. There will be a special menu for the evening, featuring the Rex BBQ Burger. Guests will enjoy drinks and meet the comedians until 10:30 p.m. Tickets available on Resy.

Beerathon 5K + Beer Fest – an event focused on combining exercise and celebrating Pennsylvania-based beer companies and beyond will take place at The Navy Yard.

Beerathon kicks off with a 5K run (or walk) where participants will earn a beer for each mile completed. After the race, patrons are invited to a beer fest with a list of curated beers, food trucks, live DJ and more on Marine Parade Grounds. The Beerathon does not require any physical activity or participation in the 5K. Beer Fest admission tickets are also available, separately. Choose your adventure: Beer Fest, 5K or both. TEDxDilworthPark – From noon to 3 p.m. at City Winery, 990 Filbert St. The event is open to the public. Tickets at www.tedxdilworthpark.com. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. Speakers are Nicole Bailey-Williams, Maybe Burke, Lauren Cristella, Lyndsey Getty, Adaeze Iloeje-Udeogalanya, Ssanyu Lukoma, Theo Major, Tina Nacrelli, David Sylvester, Michael Twinning, Brian Tucker and Najya Williams.

A Philly-Centric Concert – At 9 p.m., at Craft Hall, 901 N. Delaware Ave. International recording artist Jae Mazor will make his return, joined by South Philly native recording artist Denine, as well as Peter Fontaine and Jesseee B. Doors open at 7 p.m. Hosted by DJ Slice and featuring music from DJ Spinatra between sets. PlazaPalooza – From 1-7 p.m. at Triangle Park, 23rd and South streets. There will be live music all day, face painting and balloon animals, food trucks and the kiddie train. Igloo, Graces Tavern and shops on Grays Ferry Avenue will be open for business. And new this year, a market with 15 local vendors. Rain date May 19.

Banh Mi and Bottles – Indulge in a culinary journey in celebration of AAPI month with Banh Mì and Bottles’ chef-owner Tuan Phung in collaboration with chef Thanh Nguyen of Gabriella’s Vietnam, showcasing a Viet-fusion menu incorporating dishes with a Cambodian flair and Korean influence. Priced at $100 per person, this event features a four-course prix fixe dinner with two seatings, and a menu presented by both chefs, paying homage to Asian American and Pacific Island cuisine. May 25-26

Bikeout – Cyclists are invited to experience a hassle-free overnight bike camping trip over the Memorial Day weekend on the next Bikeout group ride. Hosted by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, promises a weekend of outdoor adventure along Greater Philadelphia’s Circuit Trails network. Riders will gather near the art museum and travel about 38 miles along the Schuylkill River and the Perkiomen Creek before spending the night at Camp Kweebec and riding back to Center City the following day. Staff will transport all gear, leaving participants free to enjoy the ride with guidance from Bikeout volunteers and mechanical support from Keystone Bicycle Co. The Big Dill – From noon to 7 p.m. at Xfinity Live!, the world’s largest pickle party is coming to Philadelphia. The venue, located at 1100 Pattison Ave., will transform into the epicenter of the ultimate pickle celebration, brimming with good times and great vibes.

August 17

Vegandale – At the Navy Yard, a diverse and growing list of food, beverage and lifestyle vendors from around the world, promising attendees an opportunity to try the best and newest in vegan products. In particular, the Philadelphia edition is set to showcase both local and vendors from around the world, offering an opportunity for attendees to try dishes and products not readily available elsewhere.
